Dear [your landlord’s name],

I am a tenant of [name of your block or building] and I am writing to inform you of some structural issues with the building.

{Parts of the cladding on [location] are coming loose/are about to come loose}
{Ceiling/floor/wall panels are missing/coming loose in [location]}
{Windows are cracked/missing/broken in [location]}
{Balconies/walkways are unsafe/at risk of becoming unsafe}
{Doors in [location] are broken}
{The lift is broken/unsafe}
{Stairs are unsafe/Tiles are coming off the stairs/Bannisters are broken/damaged}
{[Other issues]}

This has been the case since [month or year when you first noticed the problems].

As you can imagine, these issues are of some concern to myself {and other tenants} {,especially as this [creates access issues for disabled tenants/presents a danger to young children/could be the cause of a bad accident/could allow intruders access to the building/has an impact on temperature levels within the flats/is allowing water into flats} .

Could you tell me when a structural survey was last conducted for this block, and any work that is scheduled towards the repair of the problem{s}?

I would also be glad if you could contact me at your earliest convenience so that we can arrange a date when you might visit to assess the damage for yourself.

I look forward to receiving your reply by [date, two weeks in the future] at the latest.

Yours sincerely,
